dope, black and mathletic
be dope. start a movement.
There are less than 8% of Black Educators, and 1% of Black Mathematicians. We know that seeing ourselves promotes growth for our community. Representation matters. My first year as a math teacher, I learned that the numbers matter, but it’s more about what math teaches us about ourselves. When students learned the math, the next question they would ask. “Now that I have done this challenging thing, what else can I do?” Math ultimately provided students and teachers the confidence to overcome the next big thing. Yes, we are BLACK, dope, smart, and intelligent. Be a part of the movement!
